Agri-Marketing training for UK trainers Print E-mail
The UK training development workshops are planned for two dates in 2008.  The workshops will take place in SAC's Farm Business Services Office in Perth on:
  • Tuesday 12th February 2008
  • Tuesday 18th March 2008
At present, 12 potential participants have been identified, although a minimum of 8 is anticipated for each workshop. The first workshop will provide an overview of the needs of rural producers as identified during the UK TNA process, the Leonardo da Vinci Agri-Marketing programme, and go into developing the training topics, looking at:
  • Market Information
  • Market Research
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Diversification
And at market areas such as:
  • Farmers' Markets
  • Farm Shops
  • Foodservice
  • Food Tourism
The second workshop will go into further areas, looking at specific development training for trainers, again using specific topics such as:
  • Collaboration
  • Environment / Organics
  • Non-food
  • NPD
  • Quality
  • Export
The afternoon session will look at in depth areas such as:
  • PDO/ PGI
  • Branding
  • Pricing
  • Promotion
  • Distribution
Trainers will be given an overview of topics, and further training will take place by videoconference to go into further detail where necessary.
The trainers are identified from within Farm Business Services and Select Services groups within SAC, and are spread across Scotland and Northern England
